Ask for release

Use the phone and instructions on the notice left on your vehicle. If the notice is missing or you cannot reach the release contact, contact The Houston District parking support. Give the lot, plate, state, location, and the time you requested removal. Keep your paid receipt and photos of the notice. Do not remove or damage the boot yourself.

Houston's rule pack sets a boot removal fee cap for expired parking or a vehicle with a prior paid term of $25.00 (US-TX-Houston rule pack houston-v1 baseline; Houston Code §26-662(3)). The cap for a verified nonpayment case without a prior paid term is $100.00 (US-TX-Houston rule pack houston-v1 baseline; Houston Code §26-662(3)). A posted lower fee can still apply. The system does not add an unverified unpaid-parking fee to a boot charge.

Under the Texas release rule, the removal deadline is 60 minutes (US-TX rule pack tx-v1 baseline; Tex. Occ. Code §2308.258(a)–(b)) after your removal request. If the boot is not removed by that deadline, the boot fee must be waived or refunded. Record when you requested removal; payment timing does not extend that request-based deadline. Tow escalation after a boot has a minimum waiting period of 24 hours (US-TX-Houston rule pack houston-v1 baseline; Houston Code §26-662(2)), and additional legal and operational conditions apply. If your paid parking or permit was active, tell the operator and support immediately so coverage can be checked.
